Why Are You Getting This Report?
You receive this weekly report because you activated iCopyright Articles Tools + Syndication on your website. This six-in-one tool allows you to syndicate, source, share, promote, track and sell articles on your website.
What Data Is Reported?
This section of the report shows which of your articles appear to match articles found on other websites as indicated by the listed URLs. Up to 10 matches per week are listed. These sites may have your permission to republish your articles, or you may be republishing articles from these sites. If these sites have republished your articles without permission, you may want to investigate further to either request them to remove your content or to obtain permission and a license from you. You can do all of this and more when you have fully enabled iCopyright’s Discovery service.
Not Getting Any Data?
You may not get any data for this section of the report if our Discovery tracking tool did not find any matches to the articles on your site. Keep in mind that we do a limited search each week of your recently published articles at no cost to you. A more expansive search is available to you for a nominal fee. Sign in to your iCopyright Conductor administrative console to activate the Discovery service and set up your search parameters.
How Can You Improve the Tracking of Your Articles on Other Sites?
First, you should turn on the Discovery tool in your iCopyright Conductor administrative console. This will put the tool to work for you on more of your content and will spider more of the web each week to find matches. Click on Discovery from the top menu in Conductor and follow the instructions to begin using Discovery.
Second, you should upload a “whitelist” of sites that have permission to republish your articles (or that you have permission to use) so that the Discovery service does not track these sites.
Third, make sure you have added the iCopyright Article Toolbar to all of the articles you own and have published on your site. Those are the ones our Discovery tracking tool will search the web for to find matches.
Fourth, if you are publishing articles that you do not own, do not add the iCopyright toolbar to those articles. Our Discovery tracking tool will index all articles on your site that have the toolbar, and will search the web for those first.
Need Help Optimizing This Tool for Best Results?
Our staff is always happy to take a look at your site and offer some suggestions on how our Discovery tracking tool can identify sites that have republished your articles. Send an email to support@icopyright.com and include your contact information and URL of your site.
