iCopyright announced today a new service for freelance writers, bloggers, photographers, musicians and other content creators. The free service, dubbed ©reators, is designed to help individual content creators promote their works, preserve and communicate their copyrights in the works, and instantly grant permissions to people who want to use the works.
Creators register for a free ©reator's Tag, which replaces their traditional copyright notice. People who come into contact with the works can use the tag to learn more about the creator and obtain rights to use the works. Creators can use their given name, a company name, or an alias to serve as their copyright notice.
An example of a ©reators tag is as follows:
2010, Jane Doe. Some rights reserved. For permissions: http://janedoe.icopyright.com.
Content creators can get their free interactive copyright notice at http://license.icopyright.net/creator/creatorSignup.act.
