ABM Partners with iCopyright on Anti-Piracy Tagging and Content Licensing Program for Members
Publisher members can take advantage of reduced rates and extended services

SEATTLE, Washington, April 24, 2007 -- American Business Media (ABM) has reached an agreement with iCopyright, a leader in content marketing, content licensing and copyright permissions, to make the iCopyright “tag” and services available to ABM member publishers at a reduced rate. The iCopyright tag helps publishers to combat copyright infringement, while making it easy for their readers to more easily comply with copyright laws and automatically obtain instant licenses, reprints and other services.

“Copyright protection is extremely important to our members and we are working diligently to aid them in preventing piracy of their content. Tagging content and automating permissions and licensing are important pieces of a comprehensive anti-piracy program,” said Gordon Hughes, CEO of ABM. “A number of our publisher members already use iCopyright and we are pleased that other ABM members can now obtain the services on better terms than non ABM members.”

Outsell, Inc., a leading research and advisory firm that specializes in serving the information industry, estimates that 56 billion documents are transferred over the Internet each year, many without proper permission. Publishers are losing millions of dollars in ad revenue and licensing revenue as a result of not proactively deploying a solution like iCopyright. In his bellwether report, “Information Industry Outlook: 2007 Reality Checks,” John Blossom of Shore Communications writes, “The single most crying need for the publishing industry in 2007 is to rethink how it approaches the licensing and relicensing of copyrighted content.”

"We are proud to be members of ABM and to assist its publisher members to preserve their copyrights and generate more revenue from their content,” said Mike O'Donnell, Founder and CEO of iCopyright. " We are deploying our technology worldwide, so that no matter where ABM-member content may be distributed, their copyrights can be communicated and respected.”

ABM members already using iCopyright’s services include Access Intelligence, Penton Business Media, Source Media, and Ziff-Davis. ABM members can sign up for the program at http://license.icopyright.net/publisher/WizardWelcome.act promotion code ABM307.

iCopyright offers a similar program to member publishers of the Software and Information Industry Association.
